Jon Lovitz Responds to Crystal Hefner's 'No. 1 Playboy Mansion Customer' Claim

Comedian and actor Jon Lovitz has offered a measured response to recent statements made by Hugh Hefner’s widow, Crystal Hefner, regarding his past presence at the famed Playboy Mansion.

During an appearance on the "Lisa Guerrero Unleashed" podcast, Crystal Hefner referred to Lovitz, 69, as the mansion's "No. 1 customer" and went further to describe him as "one of the biggest pervs" in Hollywood.

Responding to the 'No. 1 Customer' Label

When approached by reporters outside a Los Angeles restaurant on Tuesday evening, Lovitz addressed the comments directly. He indicated that he viewed the "No. 1" designation as a positive acknowledgment.

"Any time someone says I’m No. 1, it’s a compliment," Lovitz stated.

He then reiterated his high regard for the late media magnate, Hugh Hefner.

"Hugh Hefner was one of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever met and all of his friends know it," Lovitz remarked. "That’s all I have to say about that."

Allegations from the Playboy Mansion

On the podcast episode, Crystal Hefner expanded on her characterization of the "Saturday Night Live" alumnus, accusing him of being a "lurker" during parties at the Holmby Hills residence, renowned for its lavish gatherings.

"He would be up there all the time," Crystal claimed. "His eyes would go front to back [looking at] all the women that walked through the door at the party."

She also recalled an incident involving Lovitz's dog, asserting, "His dog peed all over the place," and added, "I remember him. Every time, every party."

Crystal Hefner began her relationship with Hugh Hefner when she was 21 years old. Their engagement was announced in 2010 when she was 24 and Hefner was 84. The couple initially canceled their wedding just days before the scheduled ceremony in 2011 but later reconciled. They were married in 2012 and remained together until Hugh Hefner’s passing in 2017 at the age of 91.

Recalling Other Notable Guests

In another segment from her own program, "After the Mansion," Crystal Hefner spoke about other prominent figures who frequented the estate. She alleged that actor Jack Nicholson treated the Playboy Mansion as if it were his personal retreat.

"They used to call it Jack Nicholson’s drive-thru at one point because he would drive up, grab some food or whatever else he could get there and leave," she claimed.

However, Jack Nicholson's daughter, Lorraine, has offered a different perspective on her experiences at the iconic property. In a 2024 essay published in Vanity Fair, Lorraine Nicholson recounted spending her childhood there, often playing with Hefner's sons, Marston and Cooper.

"People assume that my father took me to the Mansion, but they assume wrong," she wrote. "In fact, I can venture with confidence that I spent more time there than my father ever did."

Hugh Hefner's Celebrity Fascination

Crystal Hefner also shared her insights into her late husband's deep interest in Hollywood history and celebrity status.

"One thing that mattered most to Hef was fame," she stated. "Any celebrity was treated extremely well whenever they visited. He would have Bill Maher for chats, hang with Berry Gordy of Motown and then you’d see plenty of other people there. Buzz Aldrin, the original Catwoman."

Reflecting on her personal relationship with Hugh Hefner, Crystal expressed profound gratitude for his influence.

"He taught me love. He taught me kindness. He gave me life. He really did," she explained. "He opened my mind, my world, to all of these opportunities and experiences I would have never in my lifetime been able to have."
