Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) recently announced the creation of a new title, the Knockouts TV Championship, with an inaugural tournament set to crown its first holder. The significant news was delivered during the Slammiversary event on Sunday, marking an expansion for the promotion's women's division.
Addressing the audience in Boston, TNA icon Traci Brooks unveiled the details of the new championship. She confirmed that a 16-woman tournament would commence on the upcoming "Impact" broadcast this Thursday. A key feature of this new title is that it will be exclusively defended on the weekly television program, adding a dedicated storyline to the show. The tournament bracket showcases a diverse roster, combining both fresh faces to the TNA brand and several competitors familiar to wrestling enthusiasts.
The Inaugural Tournament Bracket
The path to becoming the first Knockouts TV Champion is laid out with competitive matchups across two sides of the bracket.
- Indi Hartwell vs. Vicki Venuto
- Harley Hudson vs. Thea Hail
- Elayna Black vs. Wendy Choo
- M by Elegance vs. Rosemary
- Jade Stone vs. Alisha Edwards
- Jody Threat vs. Gabby Forza
- Mara Sadè vs. Tasha Steelz
- Heather by Elegance vs. Allie
The competitor who emerges victorious from this 16-woman field will make history as the very first Knockouts TV Champion.
"Impact" Episode Highlights
The initial round of the tournament is scheduled to air on AMC this Thursday evening at 9 PM ET. Viewers will witness the first two championship tournament bouts.
One anticipated contest will see Heather by Elegance face off against Allie. These two recently clashed at Slammiversary in a TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match, where Allie and Rosemary successfully defended their titles against the duo of Heather and M by Elegance. The second opening-round match will feature Mara Sadè competing against Tasha Steelz.
Beyond the Knockouts TV Championship tournament, this week's "Impact" is also slated to present a lineup of other notable matches and segments. These include a singles match between Leon Slater and Eddie Edwards, another encounter featuring Ryan Nemeth against KC Navarro, and a multi-person contest to determine the number one contender for the X Division Championship, involving Fabian Aichner, Mr. Elegance, BDE, Rich Swann, and Home Town Man.
Additionally, the broadcast is expected to feature appearances from newly crowned TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, TNA Women’s Champion Xia Brookside, and Ricky Sosa, who are all set to address the audience.
