Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson delivered a poignant message of condolence to the family of Benjamin Satterley, a prominent figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) known as Pac, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 40.
Before his time as Pac in AEW, Satterley garnered recognition in WWE, where he wrestled under the names Adrian Neville and simply Neville. He was among the initial talents to join AEW when it launched in 2019. Throughout his distinguished career, he secured numerous championships across both major wrestling promotions.
Johnson began his Instagram video by extending his love and support to the Satterley family.
Dwayne Johnson Reflects on Wrestling Community's Bond
"I was just so sorry to hear this news. As global as professional wrestling is, as global as WWE is, as much as AEW is growing into this phenomenal wrestling company, and wherever you’re wrestling at around the world, Asia, Latin America, Europe, it doesn’t matter," Johnson stated. "As global as professional wrestling is, we’re still a very tight-knit unit and a tight-knit group because we all share the same DNA. And that is our love and our passion for the squared circle and to perform for audiences around the world. And we’re a little crazy, and that’s OK. But when we lose one of our own, it hurts. And when they’re young and so insanely talented, it really, it really f---ing hurts, especially when that life is robbed and you don’t get that opportunity to live a full life."
Johnson also addressed AEW owner Tony Khan, fellow performer QT Marshall, and the entire AEW locker room, conveying his profound sorrow for their loss. He concluded his message to the Satterley family by wishing them "love and light as you endure this pain and stay strong."
Wrestling World Reacts to Satterley's Passing
Johnson himself holds a position on the board of TKO, the parent company overseeing WWE. In a gesture of respect, WWE displayed a tribute graphic dedicated to Neville before their "Monday Night Raw" broadcast. All Elite Wrestling also announced plans for a special "Dynamite" tribute episode on Wednesday evening to honor Satterley's memory.
Benjamin Satterley was discovered deceased in Illinois on Sunday, merely hours after participating in the "All Out" event.
